EV growth drives lightweight, high-fatigue automotive springs

Date: 2026-07-31 Views: 1

As new-energy vehicle penetration rises, the automotive spring industry is moving through a structural upgrade. Higher curb weight, battery packaging and chassis tuning requirements push suspension springs, compression springs, spiral coils and special forms toward higher strength, longer fatigue life and tighter weight limits.

Public industry analysis highlights wider use of micro-alloy spring steels, hollow/variable-rate designs and digital simulation to balance weight reduction with durability. Manufacturers also advance heat-treatment control, in-line inspection and process traceability to meet OEM IATF and PPAP expectations.

For spring suppliers, this means delivering not only parts but also material selection, force matching and fast sample validation. Precision springs remain essential building blocks in chassis and body open-close systems for EV platforms.
