Air suspension moves downmarket, spring modules go system-level

Date: 2026-07-30 Views: 1

Passenger-car air suspension fitment has risen quickly and is moving from premium models into broader price bands. Industry observers note that air springs, as key actuators, are increasingly integrated with sensors, electronically controlled dampers and controllers.

Conventional coil springs and precision special springs are not disappearing; they complement air-spring solutions across vehicle segments. Comfort-oriented models use more air springs, while cost-sensitive applications still rely heavily on high-performance steel springs. In all cases, OEMs raise the bar on durability, NVH and consistency.

Localization of air-suspension components in China continues, pushing spring makers to strengthen materials, process control and inspection. For automotive spring specialists, tracking electrified and smarter suspension trends—and delivering high fatigue life with stable force output—remains key to the next wave of sourcing opportunities.
